On September 10th, a girl I knew, Brooke Brunsvold, passed away in a tragic accident. She will be remembered, and her life was cherished. When I first found out, all I wanted to do was tell her how beautiful I always thought she was. How she had the most gorgeous eyes, and how I was glad to call her my friend. But I can't do that. Brooke is gone now. What I can do, though, is appreciate the life she lived. We all need to realize how fleeting our lives are, and losing Brooke helped me realize that. Every day, tell the people you care about that you love them. Tell people they are beautiful, that they are amazing. Because they need to hear that from you. My deepest condolences to Brooke's family and friends and the loss they feel.
We must, as quoted in Harry Potter, pity the living; not the dead. And most of all, pity those who live without love. Make sure to tell those you love what they mean to you. Remember how important it is.
