Description
This piece was inspired by intricate Henna/Mehndi designs. I began drawing a woman with the third eye because I really have been wanting to, and it sort of became an elaborate design of a Hindu godess.
I just worked on this at various times during class. The hardest part was satisfying my perfectionism. The sides are not perfectly symmetrical, but I have to accept the drawing despite this. As my friend reminded me, one must embrace imperfection.
Contrary to popular belief, drawing in class helps me concentrate far more than if I were to be just listening. It keeps my attention so that I truly listen to the teacher. When I am sitting and just listening to the teacher, I more often find myself spacing out and becoming distracted. By focusing on a drawing, I focus on the present, including audial and visual stimuli.
AND HELLO EVERYONE AHH
I haven't taken a break from art, I swear, it's just this past year was really difficult for me in a lot of aspects, most prominently my health, and I found it difficult to stay consistent. I've had a hell of a hectic year, and it's even more so now, because I'm in college! But stay tuned, because I will try to upload more material for consistency's sake.
So many of you have commented and favourited my work. I've had people sending me notes and featuring me and I'll try to get back to you all...at some point. DeviantArt has changed a lot!
